Ten years after exploring Concept Cartoons in mathematics for the first time, the new member of the Concept Cartoon family has arrived. The first venture into Concept Cartoons in mathematics was in 1998 with Janet Mock. Janet has used them since then in her work as a lecturer at Western Washington University, USA. The following year we worked with colleagues at Manchester Metropolitan University to help create Concept Cartoons for Maths on the Metro. This was a project similar to Science on the Underground, with mathematical Concept Cartoon posters appearing on the metro trains in Greater Manchester during the Year of Maths 2000.

More recently John Dabell has worked with us to create the wide-ranging set that is now available. John joined the Millgate House Education team, bringing his creative ideas and enthusiasm for Concept Cartoons to take a lead role in writing Concept Cartoons in Mathematics Education. Other contributors to the publication include Costel Harnasz, Gordon Stainsby, Melvyn Cole, and groups of teachers and advisers in Edinburgh and North Yorkshire, led by Peter Gorrie and John Crosland.
